Sypnosis | The film takes place in Sri Lanka. In the story, the Moslem-Buddhist civil war has driven a local boy to hide out in a traveling circus which his white mother helps run. The fantastic nature of this story is borne out by the condition of the boy's mother, who survived the Nazi death camps and yet, in the 1980s, looks like a young woman. Despite the fragile refuge offered by the circus, the civil war begins to affect the performers’ lives. |
