Sypnosis | The tragic tale of a love-struck young man, Josef, who joins a travelling circus in order to win the heart of a beautiful trapeze artist, Alice. Lord Dempsey, the circus owner and Alice's father, disapproves of Josef's romantic intentions towards his daughter and tries every trick to foil his attempts. But Josef creates a trapeze act of such brilliance that the conniving circus owner cannot help but incorporate him in his show. When news reaches Josef that Alice has accidentally fallen during her act and is presumed dead, he is devastated and vows never again to set foot on the ground. Seeing an opportunity to make money out of the situation, Dempsey exploits Josef as a circus attraction, despite his rapid descent into madness. |
